"All the best performers bring to their role something more, something different than what the author put on paper. That's what makes theater live. That's why it persists."
- Stephen Sondheim.

Singing auditions will take place between 11:30am - 4:50pm. The dance call will be from 5 - 6:00pm with a parent meeting hosted by previous Internship parents at the same time. Though highly recommended, the parent meeting is optional.

QUESTIONS?
-
Students should be high school age - Freshman through Seniors (14-19).
-
Interns must participate in 3 events during the year to perform in their Showcase Performance.
These events often happen on the weekends or evenings when artists are available for masterclasses.
If cast in a show or given a position on crew for a show, interns are required to attend all rehearsals and performances just like the professionals with the same expectations. Shows rehearse Tuesday thru Friday evenings and Saturday/Sunday daytimes. Crew roles usually start at tech rehearsals.
This program is very much geared towards “you get out of it what you put into it”. You can learn a lot and gain tons of great access and experience the more you are involved.
-
YES! We provide all of these great classes and opportunities for free thanks to donors and grants. We believe that everyone should be given the chance to learn and grown in a professional environment as they find their artistic voice.
Tickets are now ON SALE for Internship Showcase!

If you are in college and looking to enhance your knowledge, get hands on experience, and learn more about professional theater please email dionysia@shortnorthstage.org your resume and what positions/fields you are interested in. We do NOT offer housing for these internships.
